Blue Hole Falls
This photograph was made on November 16th, 2013. Point Lobos, and the surrounding area, is the only place on earth where the Cypress tree is indigenous. Point Lobos is located three miles south of Carmel on Highway 1. It could be considered the beginning of the Big Sur coastline in California.
Some of photographer Ansel Adams’ greatest work was inspired by the wind-sculpted cypress, lonely sentinels perched at the edge of the continent. Landscape artist Francis McComas called Point Lobos “the greatest meeting of land and water in the world.”
