This photograph was taken in December of 2007 in Grand Marais, Minnesota at a place called Artist’s Point. This is part of the scenic Minnesota North Shore area along Highway 61. Before going I was dimly aware of just how beautiful the entire North Shore region is. There are dozens waterfalls and rivers that flow into Lake Superior a stones throw from Highway 61 as you travel north from Duluth, Minnesota all the way to Canada. This photograph and the companion image, Winter Of Discontent, were taken from the same vantage point. After taking this photograph I moved the tripod a couple feet to my right, turned the camera orientation from portrait to landscape and captured the second image. These are two of my favorite images I hope you enjoy them also.
