This photograph was taken in December of 2007 in Grand Marais, Minnesota at a place called Artist’s Point. Processed in black and white here. Artist’s Point has been an inspirational setting for writers, poets, painters and photographers for decades. The ice covered rocks and crashing waves on this winter morning were all that and more. Getting to this low vantage point required crossing over ice covered rocks. I am fairly certain no one saw me scooting across the ice on my rear end to keep from falling into the frigid lake; camera and tripod in tow.
